He was predeceased by: his grandson Hunter Alverson; his parents, John Alverson and Irene Alverson; and his siblings, Mamie Lou Lares, Sally Jo Morrow, J. T. Alverson, Billy Alverson and Lester Alverson.

He is survived by: his children, Cindy Webb, Debra Faust, Paula Hardy, Frank "Butch" Alverson, Jr. (Lindy), Jeff Alverson (Jo), Beth Mowery, Jennifer Grimes and John Wright; and his sister Dorothy "Dot" McCullough. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
