He was predeceased by: his parents, James Walton and Louise Stephens Phillips; his wife Mary Maude Fetner Phillips; his son-in-law John Stewart; his grandson-in-law Jared Wayne Jordan; and his brothers, Jimmy, Walton and Frank Phillips.
He is survived by: his daughters, Becky Phillips East (Gene) of Ashland, Lydia Phillips Stewart of Ashland and Penny Phillips of Auburn; his grandchildren, Kelly Williams, Suzy Jordan and Sady East; and his great grandchildren, Sydney and Edwin Jordan. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
