He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gortney and Beulah Watts Gortney; and his siblings, Gaynell Harvle, Clarence Gortney Jr., Active, Shane Davidson, John M. Saxon, Ryan Denney, Johnny McVey, Lynn Brown and Vic Gortney.
He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Wellborn (Stephen) of Cragford, Tony Gortney (Alan) of Glendale, AZ and Frank Gortney of Ashland; his grandchildren, Caleb Wellborn, Danielle Aviles, Krislyn Hanvey, Amber Thomas and Grey Gortney; his great grandchildren, Elaina Wellborn and Jaxson Hanvey; and his siblings, Charline Gurley of Alpine, Brenda Long of Birmingham and Doug Gortney of Ashland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
