It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Glenda Ruth Moore of Ashland, Alabama, born in Clay, Alabama, who passed away on January 4, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Glenda Ruth Moore to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Leon and Essie Bowman McVey; the father of her children James T. Moore; her son Burt Wayne Moore; her grandson Austin Combest; her great grandchild Raymond Cole Davidson; and her siblings, Inez Jones, Johnnie McVey, Ruby Gravette, Lillian Flournoy, Calvin, James Earl, Charles Ray, Wayne and Jerry Lynn McVey.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Brown (Jeffery) of Lineville, Charles Davidson (Terry) of Jackson's Gap, James Edward Moore (Sharon) of Jacksonville, Timothy Moore of Alexander City, Greg Moore (Lisa) of Goodwater and Brian Moore (Marsha) of Ashland; and her siblings, Effie Mae Little of Alexander City, Janice Bishop (Harold) of Ashland, Robert McVey of Alexander City and Bobbie McVey (Dianne) of Eastaboga. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Benefield Funeral Home-Ashland (85499 AL-9, Ashland, AL 36251). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
