It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Smith Saxon of Ashland, Alabama, who passed away on September 25, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Smith and Loise Suggs Smith; her husband Ralph Wayne Saxon; her grandson Kane East; and her siblings, Linda Gortney, Charles and Bruce Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Saxon (Larry Griffin) of Lineville, Ollive East (Christopher) of Ashland, John M. Saxon (Melanie Waldrop) of Ashland and Wayne Saxon of Ashland; her grandchildren, Jasmine East (Josh), Gavin, Mollie, Jenna Saxon, Aaron Messer (Heather), Kendra and Acie Waldrop; her great grandchildren, Gannon, Jaedah Glenn, Harper, Haven Messer and Nadia East; and her siblings, Carolyn Cotney of Ashland, Naomi McCain of Alex City, Pat Heaton (Robert) of Rockford, Howard Smith (Martha) of Ashland and Dexter Smith of Ashland.
In lieu of Flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the Lystra Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, or the charity of their choice.
