He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmus Franklin and Elizabeth Wright Hickman; his wife Mary Braswell Deese Hickman; his sister Jeanette Dickinson; and his brother-in-law Hugh Deese.

He is survived by: his sons, Stephen Phillips Hickman (Mary) of Hoover and William Bryan Hickman of Ashford; his grandsons, Andrew Hickman of Hoover and John Hickman of Hoover; and his siblings, Frank Hickman (Larue) of Ocala, FL, Faye Ginther (Ken) of Fruitland Park, FL and Tera Hunt (John) of East Palatka, FL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu flowers memorials may be made to the "Bill Hickman Missions Scholarship Fund", c/o Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, Alabama, 36301.
