He was predeceased by: his parents, Zoltan Louis "Sam" and Mary Ann Miles Spitznagle. He is survived by: his fiancé Kim Mallory Tate of Ashford; his daughter Melanie Spitznagle of Maryland; his grandchildren, Colten White of Maryland and Camden White of Maryland; his sister Patricia Persing (Douglas) of Maryland; and his nieces, Sarah Bergin (Brendan) and Kristine Persing.
