He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Wheelus, Jr. of Washington and Lura Harrison Wheelus; his brother John Harrison Luster; and his grandson Gareth Morgan Wheelus. He is survived by: his wife Susan McCorkle Wheelus of Ashford; his children, Ginny Wheelus Gaberlavage (Paul) of Opelika, AL, Skip Wheelus (Kellie Armstrong Wheelus) of Ashford and Blake Wheelus (Brittany Tew Wheelus) of Ashford; his grandchildren, Libby, John Thomas, Emily Gaberlavage, Bryar, Ellis, Wyatt, George, Anna Kayte Wheelus, Lane and Blakely Claire Wheelus; his nephew Brandon Luster; and his nieces, Kim Luster Fondren and Melissa Luster Fondren.
