He was predeceased by: his wife Amelia Snead; his son John Howard Snead II; his parents, Glenn H. Snead and Lucy Edna Bateman Snead; and his siblings, Betty Little, Elizabeth Waters and Joe Snead.
He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Snead-Foote; his stepsons, Dan Oglesby and David Oglesby; and his sisters, Wanda Scales (Elvis) and Glenna Cornett (Roger). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
