He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Jernigan and Melba Brown Jernigan; his siblings, Jerry Jernigan and Jackie Williams; and his grandson Timothy Chase Johnston.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Jernigan; his sons, Jeff Johnston (Tammy), Dr. Shanon Jernigan (Laura) and Clay Jernigan (Melissa); his grandsons, Daniel Jernigan and Reynolds Jernigan; his sisters, Jennie Brunner (Gene), Janice Black (Larry) and Ontario; his sister-in-law Nina Jernigan; and his friends, Sam Hallmark and Evelyn Ward.
Social distancing and all COVID-19 precautions will be observed.
