He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Blackwell and Bensie Blackwell; and his siblings, Marcus Blackwell, Jerry Blackwell, Betty Inman, June Wright, Edith Clem and Sue Bland.
He is survived by: his wife Betsy Whaley; his children, Eddie Blackwell and Joanna Anderson (Jeff); his grandsons, Trevor Anderson (Rylee) and Patrick Anderson (Kaci); his great grandchild Morgan Anderson; and his sisters, Judy Troupe (Johnny) and Jane Jenkins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:45 PM at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home (322 US-31, Athens, AL 35611). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
