He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Pruett and Bumon Pruett; and his sister Teresa McArthur. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Marie Roach Pruett; his children, Terry Jennings (Frank), John Pruett (Danica) and Allan Pruett (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Marcy Copeland Bynum (Terry), Amanda Marie Pruett, Samuel Thomas Pruett, Andrew Thomas Pruett, Emma Jewel Pruett and Austin Lane Pruett; his great grandchildren, Wilder Copeland Bynum, Allister Truman Bynum and Ana Sofia Bynum; and his brother Charles (Charlie).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (pcf.org) to support research in finding a cure.
