He was predeceased by: his son Kris Banister; his brother Johnny Banister of Jack Banister; and his grandchild Andrew Banister. He is survived by: his wife Judy Ann Nolen Banister; his son Patrick Banister; his daughter-in-law Stacie; and his grandchildren, Paetyn Banister, Haedyn Banister and Patterson Banister.
