She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Rice and Ruby Rice (Green); her sister Priscilla Wilson; her niece Michelle Smith; and her great-niece Belle Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Clay; and her nephews, Lance and Brent Burgess. She is also survived by several cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her name to either Eddy Missionary Baptist Church or the John C Campbell Folk School.
