It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Irene Tidmore Nelson of Arab, Alabama, who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Franklin Flint Tidmore and Estelle Hardin Tidmore; her husband James Roy Nelson; her children, Richard Keith Nelson, William Barry Nelson and Tamsie Ann "Tammy" Nelson Sparks; and her siblings, Alvin John Henry Tidmore, Edward Oneal Tidmore, Franklin Wayne Tidmore, Sherman Douglas Tidmore, Tommy Michael Tidmore, Timothy Joe Tidmore, Betty Sue Tidmore Bailey, Dorothy "Dot" Tidmore Opperman and Tina Tidmore Brown.

She is survived by: her children, James R. Nelson (Wanda), Jon Craig Nelson (Julie) and Yvonne Nelson Abercrombie; and her siblings, Ricky Lynn Tidmore and Sharon Louise Tidmore Kite. She is also survived by four grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel (1340 N Main St, Arab, AL 35016). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
