She was predeceased by: her husband William Slaughter; her son Tommy Mitchell "Lynn"; her parents, Luther Jenkins and Selma Jenkins; her siblings, David Jenkins "Butter", Dorothy Murray and Gladys Alexander; and her granddaughter Brandi Finley.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Lovvorn (Randall), Lisa Teague (Tyrone) and Sidney Slaughter "Chub"; and her grandchildren, Crystal Barnett, Jessica Slaughter, Jennifer Slaughter, Michael Garcia (Brittney) and Angelica Smith (Pelham). She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
