He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie William and Betty Elizabeth Haynes Sherman; his wife Thelma Louise Sherman; his sister-in-law Mary Sue Rose; and his siblings, Mary Nell Benigno, Frances Chandler, Billy, Charlie, Clyde, Willard and Harold Dean.
He is survived by: his children, Sonja McAbee (Kenneth Blair) and Dennis Sherman; his grandchildren, Megan Schwartz (Denzil) and Patrick Ryan McAbee (Stacey); his great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Liam Blair and Kenneth Grayson; and his nephew Harold Delashmit. He is also survived by three nieces.
