With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Hooks (Anniston, Alabama), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 18, 2024 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Leon Hooks of Montgomery, Alabama.; her parents, Jesse and Katie; her sister Julia Maude Berry; her nephews, Jesse Ervin Finch and Hollis Finch; and her granddaughter Ella Grace Vandiber.

She is survived by: her brother Jesse Ford; her children, Richard Leon, II, Dionne Michelle (Tonikos), Leon Hooks and LaKeta Monhollen (Roger); her grandchildren, Cassandra Monhollen, Mychal Royal, Savannah Monhollen, Mariyanna Monhollen, Brooke Vandiber, Roman Vandiber and Corrine Vandiber; her siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Berry, Zenobia Hooks and Charles Hooks; and her nieces and nephews, Frederick Berry, Leonard Hooks, Jr., Michelle Williams, LaTonia Russell (Lonnie) and Chastity M. Berry.
