She was predeceased by: her husband Clay Russell Sherrill; her son William Kirk Sherrill; her brothers, Frank Stitt Jr. and William Joseph Stitt; and her parents, Frank Stitt and Lois Stitt.
She is survived by: her children, Joellyn S. Knight and Clay R. Sherrill (Pride); and her grandchildren, Mary Virginia Calvert (Matt), Sarah Sherrill, Lily Hatfield (Hayden), Bird Sherrill (Ames), Russell Allen (Amanda) and Carter Allen (Kristin). She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cullman City Cemetery (812 9th St SW, Cullman, AL 35055).
