He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Hayden and Thelma Sanderson; his parents-in-law, Lawrence Cater and Betty Cater; his siblings-in-law, Eleanor Johnson and James "Tuffy" Franklin; and his niece Dianne Bonner.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Cater Hayden; his children, Amy Johnson (Greg) and Brian Hayden (Brenda); his granddaughters, Kaylee and Emily Johnson; his stepgrandchildren, Kaley and Jarred Mulligan; and his sisters, Cathy Carroll and Aletha Hayden.
