She was predeceased by: her mother Jessie Lee Hicks; her husband William Earl Whitaker Sr.; her grandmother Queen Arbella Curry; her siblings, Leonard Hicks Jr. and Annie Heard; her aunt Josephine Elston; and her uncle Curry of Maryland.
She is survived by: her children, William Whitaker Jr. and Angela Whitaker; her sisters, Venus Washington (Sherman) and Marie Griffin; her grandchildren, Taleigha Whitaker and Jacaryen Whitaker; her nephew Rev. Jerrell Hicks (Sonya); her nieces, Sable Washington and Seara Washington; and her sister-in-law Theresa Hicks. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
