He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Hooks and Helen Hooks of Charlotte, NC; and his brother Gary Hooks. He is survived by: his daughter Cara Hooks Barber (Robert) of St. Augustine, FL; his stepson Hayes Jackson of Anniston; his grandchildren, Connor and Abigail Barber of St. Augustine, FL; his brother James "Jimmy" Hooks (Sally Ann) of Raleigh, NC; his nieces, Tracie Bays (John), Heather Bonavita (Paul) and Hannah Rowland (Pete); his nephew Jason Hooks; and also Miss Pearl.
