He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Berry Simmons and Ethel Simmons; his wife Patsy Laney Simmons; his children, Timothy Douglas Simmons and Angela Dee Sorenson; his siblings, Agnes Ruth Ballard, Carolyn Stacks and Reid Simmons; his children, Ginger Simmons, Kristi Simmons, Karen Simmons Wallen and Brad Simmons; his grandchildren, Matthew Sorenson, D. J. Shelton, Jodi Lee, Sherilyn Sterling and Aaron Sterling; and his great grandchildren, Rowan Blake Lee, Hudson Hayes Lee, Lillie Shelton and Andrew Shelton.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Anniston Memorial Funeral Home (3865 US-431, Anniston, AL 36206).
