He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Pug" Penland and Patsy Penland; his brother Michael; and his children, Whitney Amber and Joseph Bradley.

He is survived by: his wife Toni Marie; his son Josh; and his grandchildren, James and Layla. He is also survived by six siblings and many nieces and nephews.
