She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Shelton and Sallie Mae Shelton; her son William Gutierrez; and her siblings, Juanita McConnell, Jewel Fortner, Kenneth Shelton and Hubert Shelton.

She is survived by: her son Mario Gutierrez; her sister Rebecca Stutts; and her pet Tiny.
