She was predeceased by: her husband Nathan Thornton; her son Steven McKinley Thornton; and her grandson Nicholas Adams. She is survived by: her son Tim Thornton (Melissa); her grandchildren, Cassie Rose Lemay (Tim) and Dylan McKinley Thornton; her great grandchildren, Noah, Silas, Lydia and Sawyer; her siblings, Sandy Haygood (Red) and Larry Dendy; and her caregiver Jessie Davis.
