It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Kate Gibbs (Altoona, Alabama), who passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her significant other Vernell Oliver Gibbs; and her daughter Cynthia Gibbs Blanton. She is survived by: her son-in-law Daryl Blanton; her grandchildren, Bryan Blanton (Kristie) and Julie Huselton (Patrick); her great grandchildren, Hunter Blanton (Madison), Juliana Morrison (William), Joshua Ballew and Hannah Butler (Blake); and her close friend Bridgett Speight. She is also survived by her two sisters; her brother; and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Samuel's Chapel United Methodist Church. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samuel's Chapel United Methodist Church or a charity of choice in her memory.
