He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard McCoy Hill and Ella Belle Gilliland; his wife Essie Franklin Hill; his children, Joe Hill, Regina Dyar, Benjamin Dyar, Larry Starkey, Sandy Starkey and Wesley Starkey; and his siblings, Lane Hill (Muriel), Castelle Walls (Ray) and Eloise Hamm (Qunnon).
He is survived by: his daughter Marsha Willis (Keith); and his grandchildren, Amy Groves, Dr. Alan Willis (Julie), Jana Walls (Lee), Ben Dyar (Kathleen), Lisa Hylton (Jimmy), Laura Owens (Patrick), Teresa Starkey, Johnathon "Bo" Starkey (Misty), Andy Starkey (Michelle), Montana Starkey (Shanna) and Jeremy Brackett (Sonja). He is also survived by thirty-two great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
