She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Ivey and Florence Thrash Ivey; her brother Jack Ivey; and her brothers-in-law, Michael Swain and Louie Gene Oates.

She is survived by: her husband Ralph; her daughter Brenda Carlisle (Dennis); her granddaughter Laura Elizabeth Carlisle (Andrew Farris); her daughter Barbara Deese (Gordon); her grandson Timothy Nolin Deese (Melinda McGhee); her siblings, Joyce Oates (Louie Gene), Mirlyn Cox (Luther Dean), Linda Swain (Michael), Frances Flowers (Jerome), Billy Ivey (Rachel), Willie Ivey (Deborah) and Terry Ivey (Alice); her sister-in-law Esther Ivey (Jack); and her son Marcus (Carolyn). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
