He was predeceased by: his parents, William Amos Horton and Margaret Cunningham Horton; his sister-in-law Jeanette D. Horton; and his niece Virginia Horton Szabo-Durham (Ginger). He is survived by: his wife Martha A. Horton; his children, Joseph C. Horton (Kara) and Elizabeth H. Rosemeyer (Matt); his grandchildren, Jackson C. Horton, William A. Horton, Charles J. Rosemeyer (Charlie Joe), Adam M. Rosemeyer and Cambria M. Rosemeyer; his brothers, William A. Horton (Jackie) and Charles R. Horton (Marguerite); and his sister-in-law Susan A. Haynes (Joseph B. Haynes). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces and grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, First Presbyterian Church, Aliceville, AL or Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Pleasant Ridge, AL.
