She was predeceased by: her parents, William Johnson and Jewell Johnson; her siblings, Lavena Johnson, Prentiss Johnson and Verlon Johnson; and her son-in-law Andrew Picton.
She is survived by: her husband Larry McGathy; her daughters, Kim Picton and Julie Couch (Wes); and her grandchildren, Carter Picton, Cohen Picton and Bella Picton. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home & Crematory (322 Nisbet St NW, Jacksonville, AL 36265). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
