We are sad to announce that on July 25, 2022, at the age of 95, Mary Evelyn Townsend of Alexandria, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother R. B. Cates; her husband William C. "Bill" Townsend; her siblings, Margaret Russell, Julia Burton, Myrtle Young and Ross Bernard Cates, Jr.; and her son-in-law Jeff Craig.
She is survived by: her children, Janice "Jan" Craig and Vern Townsend; her grandsons, Daniel B. Wideman and Joseph William Wideman (Shelley); her great grandchildren, Lucas Wideman and Colton Wideman; and her sisters, Jerry Tharrington and Patricia Irwin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
