He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Whitten and Jean Whitten; his grandparents, Lawrence and Nannie Shurbutt; his uncles, Shurbutt and Tommy Shurbutt, Sr.; his parents-in-law, A. C. and Doris Young; and his close friend David Vinson.
He is survived by: his daughter Allison Whitten Lee (Jamie); his grandson Kaleb Preston Lee; his sister Nan Haynie (late Earl); his niece Charlsie Lackey; his nephews, Brenton and Byron Haynie; his cousin Tommy Shurbutt, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Patricia "Pat" Lackey (late Calvin, Sr.).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mike's memory to an animal charity of your choice to support animal welfare.
