He was predeceased by: his son Henry Earl Jones; his parents, John Henry and Ola Mae Jones; his stepmother Sarah Jones; and his sisters, Evelyn Bleckerby, Mae Minor, Betty Spalding and Alice Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Emma Jones; his children, Flora Ford (Wesley) and Ronnie Jones (Darcey); his grandchildren, Lance, Alisha (Elliott), Trent, Trevin and Trey; his great grandchild Baylor; and his sister Florene Rogers.
