He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoyt Thompson and Mildred Thompson; and his brothers, John Thompson, Will Thompson and Dave Thompson.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Thompson; his children, Jason Thompson (Dawn) of Ohatchee, Carol Thompson-Duncan (Chris) of Ohatchee and Joey Robertson (Deborah) of Ohatchee; and his sister Martha Yates of Walnut Grove.
