He was predeceased by: his mother Wilda Faye Washburn; his son-in-law Justin McCullers; and his brother Jonathan Washburn. He is survived by: his father Joseph Rueben Washburn (Helga) of Augusta, GA; his wife Jo Ann Washburn; his daughter Stephanie McCullers of Cragford, AL; his grandson Will McCullers of Cragford, AL; and his brothers, Robert Alan Washburn and Thomas "Jeff" Washburn of Talladega, AL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
