He was predeceased by: his parents, William Leon Whatley and Aldora Maybellel Forehand Whatley; and his son Walter Whatley. He is survived by: his children, William Michael Whatley (Jackie), Diane Voss (Mickey), Anita Destefanis (John), David Whatley, Michelle Koster (John), Chris Whatley, Debra Welcher and Allison Adams (Jeff); his close friend Susan Whatley; and his daughter-in-law Cindy Whatley. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Bill Nichol's State Veterans Home, 1784 Elkahatchee Road, Alexander City, AL, 35010.
