He was predeceased by: his parent Boone Ayres; and his sisters, Lydia Caldwell and Donna Bailey. He is survived by: his wife Syble McCain Ayres; and his children, Keith Ayres, Dawn Shurum (Jeremy), Jeanine Butts (Jimmy) and Tina Baker (Wesley).
