He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thornton and Inez Moncrief Thomas; and his brothers, John Wayne Thornton, Bill Wayne Thornton, Kenneth Thornton and Braxton Thornton.
He is survived by: his children, JoAnna Thornton of Alexander City, Jennifer Lewis (Jerry) of Lineville, Cheyenne Thornton of Alexander City and Hunter Thornton of Alexander City; his former wife Diana Thornton of Alexander City; and his siblings, Sarah Thornton of Alexander City and James Thornton of Alexander City. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
