He was predeceased by: his father Daniel Jackson Phillips, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Dawn J. Phillips of Alexander City; his son Reed Phillips (Kayla) of Chelsea; his mother Gertrude Phillips of Alexander City; and his siblings, Terry Phillips (Sandra) of Alexander City and Diane P. Davis (Jerry) of Dadeville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
