He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Thomas Beard and Frankie Ellen Craven Beard. He is survived by: his children, Miles Harrison Beard, Hannah Faye McCandless (Cody) and Brandon Michael Hosack (Ashley); and his siblings, Jimmy Beard (Stacy), Joyce Pavlowich (James) and Jenanell Hockett. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
