It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley S. Haynes of Alexander City, Alabama, who passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Davis Shivers and Eva Alberta Shivers. She is survived by: her husband John Junior Haynes; her children, Kathy H. Carpenter (Frank), Steve Haynes (Julie) and Christy Lashley (Keith); her grandchildren, Kelli Meadows (Alan), Tripp Carpenter (Ansley), Geoffrey Haynes (Jenna), Jennifer Clanton (Chase), Jake Lashley (Ashley), Jesse Lashley (Jennifer) and Tori Rearden (Zeke); and her great grandchildren, Rette Meadows (Savannah), Al Meadows, Eli Meadows, Braxton Carpenter, Emmie Carpenter, Mary Charis Haynes, Ariana Haynes, Lily Clanton, Harper Lashley, Wyatt Lashley, Mary Winston Lashley, Colt Lashley, Lexi Kate Lashley, Lydia Rearden, Hank Rearden and Royce Rearden.
Her contributions to the church and its members were immeasurable and will be deeply missed.
