He was predeceased by: his parents, Doy F. Shockley and Sara Dabbs Shockley; and his son Richard Lee Shockley, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ballard Shockley; his daughter Julia Upton (John); his daughter-in-law Allison Shockley; his grandsons, Richard Lee "Trey" Shockley, III, Russell Cruz Ballard and John Berry Upton; his siblings, Fred Shockley (Candice) and Cathy Morgan (Ricky); his stepmother Gladys Shockley; his stepsiblings, Chrys Foreman (Ted) and Al Bishop (Becky); and his pet Bella Shockley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
