It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jane Curry (Alexander City, Alabama), born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, who passed away on September 29, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Grills O'Howell and Iva Ada Smith O'Howell; her stepmother Edith Davis O'Howell; her siblings, James William "Ronnie" Sawyer, Ruth Ellen O'Howell, Rosealee O'Howell, Sharon Kathleen O'Howell, Margaret Kay O'Howell and James Grills O'Howell, Jr.; her stepbrother Kermit Davis; her spouse Orrie P. Curry, Jr.; her son Benjamin C. Curry of Alexander City; her grandchild Lauren Dena Gast; and her great grandchild Joshua Curry.
She is survived by: her stepsisters, Gloria Brunschon (Davis) of Illinois and Patricia Ann Davis of Illinois; her former husband James L. Johnson; her children, Nada Kay Gast (Neal) of Hueytown, Alabama., William P. Curry of Alexander City, Michael E. Curry (Jackie) of Alexander City, Joseph C. Curry of Alexander City and John D. Curry (Mary) of Hueytown, Alabama.; her grandchildren, Jay L. Curry of Hueytown, Austin N. Gast of Hueytown, Holly L. Nelson (Chris) of Concord and Taylor S. Gast (Mindy) of Concord; her stepgrandchildren, Tammy Herring (Curry) of Helena, William "Bill" Curry of North Carolina, Amanda Fraley (Curry) of Alliance, Megan Wyrick of Alexander City, Jonathan Nabors (Stacy) and Cory Nabors of Pelham; and her great grandchildren, Aidan, Liston, Arlen Nelson, Cooper, Caroline Gast, Tiffany, Savannah Herring, Andrew, Sierra and Dakota Curry.
In lieu of flowers donations should be given in her name to Adams Nursing Home in Alexander City, Alabama where the nursing staff graciously cared for her in recent years.
