She was predeceased by: her parents, William Sims and Mary Moore Sims; her husband Kenneth Ray Smelley; and her brothers, Dwayne Sims and Ricky Sims.

She is survived by: her children, Wendy Ricondo (Joe) of San Antonio, TX and Chris Smelley (Tiffany) of Northport; her grandchildren, Joey Ricondo and Arianna Ricondo; and her brother David Sims (Pamela) of Fayettville.
