She was predeceased by: her parents, Corbet H. Cheaney and Pearl Waldrop Cheaney; her siblings, Howard Cheaney (Ruby) and Laverne; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, J. L. Grant and Richard Cheaney.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Ward (Deborah) and Lisa Brazeal (David). She is also survived by four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Orr Street Baptist Church, 939 O Street, Alexander City, AL, 35010.
