She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Aden Strickland and Flora Ozella Bentley Strickland; her husband Thomas Edwin Melton; her siblings, Wynelle Reddman, Clevis Edwards, James Edward Strickland, Dovard Strickland and Thomas Strickland; and her brother-in-law James Hubert Windham.
She is survived by: her sisters, Julia Windham and Juanita Pugh (Herbert); and her sister-in-law Nita Strickland. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Mrs. Melton would often donate to charitable causes and people in need.
