It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Willoughby Hamlet Hester of Alexander City, Alabama, who passed away on October 19, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Walter Willoughby and Ovada Whaley Willoughby; her former husband Albert Jefferson Hamlet; her husband William Howard Hester; her son Elvin Hamlet; her son-in-law Andy Hill; and her siblings, Eldridge Willoughby, Boyd Willoughby, Jack Willoughby and Edna Willoughby Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Whetstone (Leonard) of Kellyton, Kathy Powell of Alexander City, Cynthia Hill of Wadley, Amy Adams (Mike) of Alexander City, Thurman Hamlet (Brenda) of Ourtown and Jeff Hamlet (Cynthia) of Wadley; her daughter-in-law Susan Hamlet of Alexander City; and her siblings, Sadie Sherum of Daviston and Clifford Willoughby (Geraldine) of Daviston. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
