He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Nae Sims and Maggie Loyette Prather; and his siblings, Daisy Mae McDaniel, Willie Jay Sims, Roy Lee Sims and Albert Lee Sims.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Gail Hill of Ringgold, GA, Charlotte Ann Howard (James) of Alexander City, AL, Junior Lee Sims of Alexander City, AL and Tony Lynn Sims of Alexander City, AL; his brother Roger Sims (Darlene); his aunt Margaret Holmes (Johnny); and his cousin Amos Bolan (Joyce). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; fourteen Great-Grandchildren.
