It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Johnny Askew of Alexander City, Alabama, who passed away on March 4, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Askew and Eucala Askew of Abanda, AL; his sister Annie Kate Askew of Roanoke, AL; and his son Garrett McCowan of Atlanta, GA.. He is survived by: his sister Linda Bailey (Booker T.) of Roanoke, AL; and his children, Christopher Askew of Alexander City, AL, Cedric Askew (Latrice) of Huntsville, AL, Carlos Askew of Jacksonville, NC, David Askew of Columbia, SC, Stephanie Thomas of Lafayette, AL and Farrah Askew of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
